Guest Services Associate

Under the direction of the Guest Services Coordinator, the Guest Services Associate is responsible for ensuring that each visitor to the University Union has an outstanding experience during their time in the facility.  Associates will actively greet and assist individuals in the Union, answer the telephone, provide prompt and courteous customer service, respond to questions and provide thorough information regarding the Union, TCU, and the Fort Worth community.  Guest Services Associates will enforce University Union and TCU policies and will assist staff in maintaining a safe, professional, and hospitable environment for all visitors.  Some evening and weekend availability is preferred. 

 

Qualifications:  Guest Services Associates should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills; general computer knowledge; the ability to interact with a diverse population; a willingness to learn; a positive attitude; and a strong work ethic.  Cash handling and previous customer service experience is preferred, but not required.

 

Pay:  starting at $7.50/hour

 

Event Services Associate

Under the direction of the Event Coordinator, the Event Services Associate is responsible for ensuring that each visitor to the Brown-Lupton University Union Conference Center has an outstanding experience while attending on-site events.  Associates will assist in facility arrangements providing the proper set up and arrangement of equipment, furniture, and supplies in a timely manner.  In performing duties, Associates will interface with Catering, Facilities Services, and University Union AV personnel.  Event Services Associates will conduct inspections of facilities, assist with general upkeep and inventory of  events equipment and supplies as well as perform other duties as assigned.  Event Services Associates will enforce University Union and TCU policies and assist staff in maintaining a safe, professional and hospitable environment for all visitors.  This is a primarily evening and weekend position.

 

Qualifications:  Event Services Associates should be customer service oriented, have the ability to interact with a diverse population, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, have general computer knowledge, work well in a team environment, have the ability to lift 50 pounds, be able to prioritize daily job expectations, and have a good work ethic including being reliable and on time to work.  Ability to communicate in Spanish is preferred, but not required.

 

Pay:  starting at $9.50/hour

 

A/V Tech

Basic Function and Responsibility:  Operate audio-visual equipment for events reserved by Brown-Lupton University Union clients. 

Job Duties

1.    Provides assistance to clients (e.g., answers questions regarding audio-visual equipment and instructs clients in equipment use and operation, determines clients audio-visual equipment needs), and willingness to wear building uniform.

2.    Delivers and retrieves materials and equipment; sets-up and operates equipment (video date projectors, audio boards, HD camera, and lighting boards).

3.    Maintain records and logs of materials and equipment usage.

Routine maintenance of audio/visual equipment in the University Union.

4.    Performs related duties as assigned by University Union Audio Visual Tech Supervisor

Reports To:  Audio Visual Tech Supervisor and Audio Visual Tech Assistant

Working Conditions:  May work varied hours and shifts to include evenings, weekends, and outside events.

Required Education and Experience: TCU student and a minimum of six months experience with audio-visual equipment.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Ability to read, write, and accurately follows oral and written instructions.

2. Effectively interact with university personnel and public.

3. Ability to lift 50 pounds.

4. Ability to understand equipment operational manuals.

5. Ability to operate a Mac and PC computer.

6. Ability to maintain accurate records.
